With only one bus used for the Kebumen – Yogyakarta route back and forth and even driving it on its own, Teuku Erry Rubihamzah started operating PO Efisiensi in 1996. Starting with serving the tourism segment using medium-sized buses, Efisiensi soon focused its services on inter-city and interprovincial transportation services with the regular route Yogyakarta (Jogja) -Cilacap in 2002, followed by the Yogyakarta (Jogja) -Purwokerto route in 2008.
